AC spindle motors are employed in a range of applications and industries, such as drilling, engraving and routing.
A typical spindle motor can run at speeds of up to 10,000RPM and are extremely precise motors and so, therefore, require specialist spindle motor repair and testing facilities, such as those offered by Alpha Electrics.
A spindle motor may require work to be carried out on one of its many complex and crucial components, such as bearings, encoders and sensors. As such, spindle motor repair can often be time consuming and expensive, so we recognise how important it is to provide our customers with an accurate estimate quickly and efficiently.
Our state of the art motor testing hub allows us to test spindle motors up to 3000Hz open loop and up to 1250Hz closed loop. Our team checks how the spindle motor is performing in terms of control, output and efficiency. Crucially, we can test all types of spindle motors at their full nameplate speed, both open and closed loop, mounted either horizontally or vertically, and quickly provide our customers with a comprehensive diagnosis, report and estimate.
As part of the testing process, we check both the vibration of the spindle motor and the bearings at full capacity, ensuring that feedback sensors are working as they should.
The spindle motor is stripped down completely to allow our repair engineers to assess and repair all types of electrical and mechanical faults.
Following your authorisation to proceed with the spindle motor repair, our team will not only repair the problem, but also refurbish it to the appropriate OEM standard and provide you with a 12 month warranty on the repairs carried out.
While we have particular expertise in the repair of spindle motor brands such as Bosch Rexroth, Fanuc, Indramat and Siemens, our experienced engineers have the ability to repair and service any brand of spindle motor to a high standard.
Should your spindle motor require replacement parts in order to complete the repair, we have excellent direct relationships with a range of manufacturers, many of whom are able to provide the required parts very quickly, allowing us to complete the repair to a timescale that minimises your downtime.
As with all repairs and other services provided by Alpha Electrics, our Quality Management System (QMS) ensures that our focus is always on quality and continual improvement, as recognised by our ISO 9001 accreditation.
